The lightweight engineering experts from Dresden presented the ROBIN technology (robotised injection moulding) at the K trade fair 2019, a novel process in which a lightweight injection moulding machine can be moved freely in space in an automated manner for the functionalisation of components.

Visitors to the ILK stand were able to see the performance of the ROBIN technology for themselves. Together with partners AUMO GmbH, CHRISTMANN Kunststofftechnik GmbH and FEP Fahrzeugelektrik Pirna GmbH, the world premiere of the first functioning ROBIN system took place at the K trade fair in Düsseldorf from 16-23 October 2019. In live demonstrations, visitors were able to influence the position of the mobile injection moulding unit themselves on the operating screen and produce hybrid structures.

The response of the trade visitors was consistently positive. A large number of interesting discussions were held with potential users, which already indicate the great potential of the ROBIN technology.
